BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

Sales Director  
 
Position Purpose 
Paradise Outdoor Advertising is regional Queensland's leading billboard company; Paradise has over 750 billboard faces, providing excellent advertising opportunities in and around all major regional city centres of north Queensland, and also provides other forms of digital printing for business premises. The Business Development Representative will work from the Townsville Head Office and will grow the customer base by prospecting new clients and securing sale of Paradise Outdoor Advertising products.  
 
The Business Development Representative will manage and grow long term profitable relationships with customers by gaining a deep understanding of their needs and matching them with Paradise Outdoor Advertising services.   
 
This will occur while achieving sales budget targets agreed to by the Business Development Representative and Sales Director. 
 
The BDR is a vital component to the success of the Company and a key requirement is the ability to travel. This can see the BDR away for over 50% of the working month.  
 
Qualifications  
• A minimum year 12 education is preferred but not essential 
• Computer skills/literacy  
• Further sales or account management studies highly regarded 
• Business experience, a proven sales record and knowledge of business applications and functions will be highly regarded 
• Current Drivers Licence essential

Key Performance Areas 
 
Relationship Management 
Develop long term relationships with customers by: 
 
• Understanding the customer business and identifying their business  needs 
• Developing and implementing appropriate customer contact strategies 
• Maintaining personal relationships with key individuals within each customers’ organisation 
• Working with other members of the Paradise Outdoor Advertising Team to meet client needs and expectations 
• Ensuring the customers’ knowledge of  the Companies products and services are accurate and maintained 
• Resolving customer concerns 
• Seeking, following up and disseminating customer feedback 
 
Sales  
Sell and promote Paradise Outdoor Advertising products and services by: 
 
• Identifying and pursuing prospects across the business sector 
• Negotiating and coordinating high value  projects 
• Manage territory and close opportunities to meet/exceed sales quota 
• Develop leads  consisting of warm leads and cold call lists and coordinate travel plan accordingly 
• Being well informed about current industry trends and being able to talk intelligently about the industry 
• Keeping abreast of competition, competitive issues and products 
• Attending and participating in sales meetings, product seminars, and trade 
shows 
• Preparing written presentations, reports, and price quotations 
• Travel to meet with existing and potential customers

Develop and maintain business expertise by: 
 
• High quality call/travel rate and call/travel cycle management to optimise time management.   
• Providing quality outcomes for customers 
• Developing a profile in the general business community 
• Monitoring industry issues which are likely to influence customer interest 
• Feedback issues for  product development and service delivery

Manage the financial aspects/performance of the portfolio by: 
 
• Ensuring personal costs are maintained within budget limits 
• Contribute towards achieving organisation and team budgets

Work Context 
 
The Business Development Representative is required to spend significant amounts of time away from the Head Office and home base dealing with and developing clientele.  This requires spending considerable time in the supplied vehicle and working autonomously from alternate accommodation. 
 
Those times spent working from Head Office are in an environmentally controlled indoor setting.
