DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE
Position Title: Development Representative
Supervisor / Manager Title: Development Manager
POSITION PURPOSE
To negotiate and secure new property agreements for billboard locations, and gain Local Authority approvals in market areas to enable the continued growth of the business.
Primary work involves:
• New billboard site Acquisition, and approvals through Local Councils and Main Roads
• Build relationship with and understanding of Regulatory authorities and specifically Local Councils, and Main Roads
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Research, locate and acquire new potential billboard locations in market areas as directed and to target levels
• Secure property new owner agreements with the maximum possible tenure and at rents and terms as agreed with management
• Gaining new sign approvals through local authorities to facilitate growth of new and upgraded structures efficiently and in a timely manner
DUTIES
• Acquisition of new billboard locations as directed and in line with sales demand and budgeted levels
• Secure property owner agreements for new billboard sites
• The preparation and submission of applications to local authorities and MRD for approval to erect new site structures.
• Research and maintain up to date records of Local Council sign policies.
• Maintain relationships with key local Council and Main Roads personnel relating to sign policy
• Preparation of new site construction files for Operations Manager
• Regular acquisition trips to regional Queensland market areas to acquire new sites.
• Assistance with existing property owner Property agreement renewals as required
• Such other duties as may be required from time to time
JOB DIMENSIONS AND RELATIONSHIPS
• Reports to Development Manager
• Works in co operation with Development Co coordinator
Liaise internally with:
• Sales Manager – areas of sales new site demand
• Operations Manager – client installations, new/upgrade approvals & build instructions / relocations
Liaise externally with:
• Property owners
• Local Authorities, Main Roads personnel including staff and Councillors
PERSON SPECIFICATION
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION
ESSENTIAL
• Year 12 education with High achievement in English
• IT literate in Word, emails, basic web research.
DESIRABLE
• Exposure or understanding of basic town planning documents and processes

• Strong expressive written communication skills ( letters, submissions, proposals)
• Demonstrated negotiation skills
• Well organised and able to prioritize multiple projects
• Ability to travel, work unsupervised, and undertake field work
• Able to develop strong business relationships
• Attention to detail with ability to research, read contracts and follow set processes
• Assertive but able to exercise patience
• Practicable approach to decision making
• Property or similar acquisition work
DESIRABLE
• Basic Plan reading
• Exposure to the property industry
